Following a highly-competitive tender process, we were selected to provide badger fencing for a multi-million pound Highways Agency project.
Work on the widening of the A453 (from Junction 24 of the M1 through to the A52 Nottingham), got underway in January 2013 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2015.
The scheme, in which Laing O’Rourke is the main contractor, involves widening and improving the existing carriageway in order to provide motorists with a safer and more efficient route.
We were selected to provide our HT15/158/8 badger fencing for this particular project, after submitting a successful competitive tender pitch.
Our badger fencing exceeds the European Standards for tensile strength and galvanising. In addition to providing high quality products, we were also able to meet the technical specifications and exacting standards stipulated in the Highways Agency’s H47 drawing.
We have provided almost 12,000 metres of badger fencing for this scheme.
By enlisting our expertise, the Highways Agency has benefited from fencing that fully meets its specific project requirements.
In addition, it has been provided with a product that has the strength to keep badgers at bay, while retaining its shape over a long period of time, reducing the need for costly maintenance or repairs.
