Tornado launches longer rolls in response to customer demand.

The successful development of machinery such as the Quickfencer, which aids the unrolling and tensioning of wire fencing using a tractor, has reduced fencing installation time and led to demand for longer rolls of fencing.

Wire fencing was traditionally supplied in 50 metre lengths before Tornado revolutionised the fencing industry and introduced high tensile fencing into the UK in 100 metre lengths, which quickly became the standard. The Quickfencer, which enables the use of much longer rolls, is changing this.

In order to satisfy demand for longer rolls an extensive upgrade was undertaken at Tornado’s UK manufacturing plant, enabling Tornado to offer both Mild Steel and Hi-Tensile Plus stock fencing in up to 500 metre rolls and horse fencing in up to 150 metres. The results are a significant saving in both wire joiners and labour, with mechanised fencing also reducing manual handling issues and improving health and safety.

The range of longer roll products has recently been joined by 2000 metre rolls of barbed wire, available in Hi-Tensile Plus TITAN and Hi-Tensile Plus standard.
