Suitable fencing is a requirement that must be met before a local authority will issue a licence for ostrich farming. Working in conjunction with fencing contractors and ostrich farmers, Tornado has developed secure fencing which meets the unique needs of ostriches. Our unique 8cm vertical-wire spacing guards against birds trapping their toenails in the fence – a problem which the more common 15cm mesh attracts. In addition, the use of Hi-Tensile Plus® means Tornado Ostrich Fencing is resilient to impact – it simply flexes and springs back into shape after contact with a bird. Tornado Ostrich Fence is 1.53m in height, but with the recommended 30cm escape gap at the bottom the fence is 1.83m high when erected.
